Aumonier in Catalan: Commissioned piece.
The original poem by Minnie Aumonier reads:
“Il y a toujours de la musique
Parmi les arbres, dans le jardin.
Mais nos coeurs doivent etre tres silencieux
Pour l’ententre.”
The right piece of timber took some looking for! But then, I just love looking around woodmills. Once I knew that the Catalan word for coeur(s) was COR, I found my way to this piece of Kentish Oak with a natural dark grain line around its core (pun intended) focus of the emerging branch: I just had to mirror the grain with the letter C to create the heart of the piece (pun intended).
Stained highlights. Sealed with Osmowax and beeswax.
Not for sale – but similar commissions for this and other favourite poems are very welcome!
